Sonnet # 101

Pray, what really does make the world go round?
Asked thee, as a laboured breath I drew
Staring in thy endless eyes with a halo around
That fair head with a soul as true
Mumbled incoherently I did but little did thee get
The truth that eluded us all for long
Until in a lover’s sigh our fate we met
As the social mores around us did throng
Only to be shown their one true place
Where they were ensconced only to aid
A man or a woman in living a life of grace
For one needs not that nor any service paid
To breathe in a near heavenly daze
All it takes is thy divine doting gaze
