It was back in the past this fable played along
when Hamlet sat and mulled at it for long

and then walked upon the path he took for right
and left Ophelia standing alone, with eyes glistening bright

Then came along the dame of destiny
sweeping all along in her wake

life was vowed to be lived…
…to be lived for life’s sake

Time ran amok with their fate in hand
trickling through fingers like grains of sand

Hamlet rose again to the tune of amour
but sense reigned over sensibility as afore

There is a time for procrastination
a time for heeding sanity’s call

But one does wonder
if that be enough for an order so tall

Will hands be still enjoined
when the severed lamp post finally falls?
