A twinkle here, a tear there

They were a pair in hues of dark brown

In them all sorrows and joys did drown

They lit up to a glorious bright on some lovely days n nights

On others they looked torn, tired and worn out

Some call them windows to a soul,

Some term them the doorway to a heart

Reading them is nothing short of an acquired art

They said it all, when words deserted and fled

They laid bare a soul which inwardly bled…
