Destiny’s Child

There is a girl with eyes so true

She sits by the sea, gazing at all shades of blue

A curly mop of hair – unruly, wispy and tangled

Her smile such as stars in the night sky spangled

She hops, skips and jumps when gay

A happy soul, she lives life her own way

Trouble doth come knocking at her door often & more

She rues and cries, sadness filling up her core

But then comes the sunshine, bright and strong

And she wipes her eyes and breaks into a song

She is the girl…the girl about town

Who will turn your frown upside down 🙂

{A birthday dedication to a dear little gal pal of mine, who had long ago requested me to pen something for her}
