On Your Porch
Without you, there was no hope
Languished in pain so, that all desire let go
Staggered unsteadily to your door…..
You were a no show, yet dragged myself on the floor
Let my whims and fancies lead me on
Lead me on to lie on your doorstep and fawn
The world was all ears….waiting for me to break
I ran towards you, though my foot steps could be heard across the lake
I was there…stood there all along
Even when you were a long gone
