Oh Bridget!

Plus-sized, proud, beautiful and strong….

Nah! just who am I kidding….??

Now, agreed that Bridget Jones clinched her man by playing the forever optimistic, happy-go-lucky chick on the latter side of youth, possessing some not-so-covert curves.

But, does it happen to us all?

For crying-out-loud even Helen Fielding’s lovably messed-up protagonist goes through huge bouts of self-criticism and low self-esteem. I am in comparison just a mere human being!

Why do feminists sound the bugle of war at the very mention of that is something I don’t understand.

It’s natural to want to better yourself, it’s natural to look and compare and sometimes rue when things seem to be going all against what you stand for or represent.

It is not even something specific to women alone, men suffer through this phenomenon too.

When the world’s a stage, and you are accorded the part of a court jester while the willowy waif lands the main role…it sure does suck.

And there is nothing around, no ideology, no self-help guru who can manage to lessen the pain you suffer.

It is completely natural and mundane to feel so.

On the other hand, it is intelligent…nay…pure genius to be able to get over it and grin šŸ™‚

What if the waif landed the main role? She did not get to play the jester, and she will never know what it feels like to be one.

So…she is as incomplete as you are.

We all live and exist in our own little worlds. And what matters most is that you are the star of your turf – loved and cherished by those who co-inhabit this space alongside you.

For instance…the writer of this post is the absolute undisputed queen of a world where small pleasures rule the roost and the gift of gab reigns supreme.
