The Little Miss M

Little Miss M sat on a tree

Little Miss M struggled to be free

Down came the rain, heavy and cold

Rattling the tree, lo and behold

Little Miss M held on tight

Little Miss M fought with all her might

Sleets of water lashed up and down

Seemed like all will be but knocked down

Little Miss M prayed with her teary eyes shut

Little Miss M hated being stuck in a rut

Soon came a fireman, in spurs and boots

The stubborn Little M refused to set down her foot

The raindrops fell pattering with a rhythm divine

I mulled, “the girl must learn to give in sometimes.”
